We can count on Mike Roy to stand up for Middlebury and Vermonters in the state house. I value working with Mike on protecting our vote, climate change responses and more. As current chair of the Middlebury Energy Committee and vice chair of the Climate Economy Action Center of Addison County, I am impressed by Mike’s skill in navigating complex decisions related to the town’s commitment in reducing its carbon footprint. We have a renovated library coming online with a state-of-the-art geothermal heating system and a critical wastewater treatment plant upgrade project poised for significant carbon reduction measures. Mike understands that investments that reduce emissions also lower energy costs and keep dollars circulating locally.

While I know Mike best for his climate change action passion, I am certain we can rely on him to help on other critical and interconnected issues. He articulates clearly that we should reconsider how we tax luxury homes, second homes and short term rentals toward financing more housing. He stands for universal healthcare as a driver for jobs and reduced education costs and believes in better digital governance toward boosting efficiency while protecting our privacy and water resources and lands from large data centers. He thinks regionally, eager to collaborate with neighboring states, and remains accessible, quick to respond to concerns.
